Position Review
& Priority Roadmap

A strategic diagnostic for expert-led businesses that need to
understand where their positioning, proof and authority signals are
unclear, underused or disconnected.

Before investing in more activity…

Many expert-led businesses assume the next answer is a new website, more SEO, more content, more PR or a renewed focus on AI visibility.

Sometimes it is. Often it isn’t.

If the underlying position is unclear, those investments can simply make the confusion more visible.

Before deciding what to improve, it’s worth understanding whether the business is actually easy for people, search engines and AI systems to understand, trust and recommend.

That’s the purpose of the Position Review.

Investment: £4,500.

Why the Review matters

Businesses often invest in websites, SEO, AI visibility, content, PR, social media, sales activity and automation before they have confirmed whether the underlying position is strong enough.

That creates risk.

If the market cannot clearly understand what the business should be known for, more visibility may only make the confusion more visible.

If the proof of your expertise is scattered, better content may still struggle to build trust.

If the website, social profiles, search results and external signals all tell slightly different stories, AI systems and potential buyers have to work too hard to interpret your business.

The Position Review exists to prevent premature execution.

It gives you a clear diagnosis before more time, budget and energy are invested in activity that may not be built on the right foundation.

The problem it diagnoses

The Position Review looks for the points in your business where recognition is being weakened.

1

Unclear Positioning

Your business has expertise, but the market does not have a clear idea of what to associate it with.

2

Underused Proof

Evidence exists, but it is not organised, visible or connected strongly enough to support trust.

3

Disconnected Presence

Your website, content, social profiles, search results and external signals do not reinforce the same authority position.

4

Inconsistent Process

Recognition depends too heavily on sporadic effort, individual momentum or disconnected activity.

5

Unclear Commercial Pathway

Visibility and attention are not leading to qualified leads, stronger opportunities or more confident buying decisions.

The Review identifies which of these issues matter most, how they are affecting recognition and what should be prioritised next.

What the Position Review assesses

The Position Review assesses the strategic foundation behind how your expertise is understood, trusted and associated with opportunity.

It does not build every asset required for recognition.

It identifies where the gaps are, what is already working and what needs to be developed next.

1

Authority Direction

We assess what your business should become recognised for and whether that direction is clear enough to guide future authority building.

2

Audience Clarity

We look at whose recognition matters most, including clients, buyers, referrers, partners, search engines and AI systems.

3

Competitive Landscape

We consider who already owns attention and trust in the category, and where there may be space for a stronger, more distinctive position.

4

Authority Statement

We review how clearly the business explains its expertise, value and relevance.

5

Category-of-One Positioning

We assess what makes the business easier to remember, harder to compare and more confidently associated with a specific area of expertise.

6

Authority Topic Map

We identify whether the business has a clear set of topics it should consistently own, explain and be associated with.

7

Messaging System

We review how consistently the position is expressed across the website, social profiles, content, sales materials and public-facing assets.

8

Structured Authority Architecture

We assess how well the people, platforms, proof, content and offers connect into a coherent recognition system.

The Position Review identifies the gaps. Authority Build resolves them.

What a Position Review includes

The Position Review is a fixed diagnostic engagement designed to give you a clear strategic view of where you are now and what should happen next.

It can include:

  • A discovery session to understand your business, expertise, offers, goals and current recognition priorities.
  • A review of your current website, messaging and public authority signals.
  • A review of selected marketing, sales and positioning materials.
  • Directional competitor and category observations.
  • Directional AI and search observations to understand how clearly your expertise and authority position are currently being interpreted.
  • Assessment across the eight Position areas.
  • Identification of current strengths, gaps, risks and missed opportunities.
  • A prioritised roadmap that explains what should be addressed first.
  • A strategic playback call to walk through the findings and recommended route.

This is not a technical SEO audit, a brand identity review or a content calendar exercise.

It is a strategic diagnostic that examines whether your position, proof and authority signals are clear enough to support recognition online, in search and in AI conversations.

Our deliverables to you

You will receive a tailored Position Review and Priority Roadmap.

But the outcome isn’t simply isn’t a report.

It’s the confidence to know what should happen next, and what shouldn’t.

The Priority Roadmap is a strategic document designed to give you a board-level view of your current recognition position and the work required to strengthen it.

The roadmap includes:

  • An executive summary.
  • A current position assessment.
  • A recognition gap diagnosis.
  • An eight-area Position assessment.
  • What is already working.
  • What is unclear, underused or disconnected.
  • Immediate priorities.
  • Recommended next steps.
  • A suggested advisory route.
  • A roadmap for Authority Build, Authority Transformation or Authority Partnership where appropriate.

The purpose is to give you clarity before you commit to deeper work.

The Review does not assume you need the largest package.

It identifies the route that makes the most strategic sense.

The clarity you will gain

The Position Review and Priority Roadmap are designed to identify your current recognition and positioning gaps.

You’ll leave knowing:

  • What your business should prioritise.
  • Which recognition gaps matter most.
  • Which existing strengths should be protected.
  • What should not be invested in yet.
  • Whether Authority Build is necessary.
  • What the next phase of work should include.

Vitally, you’ll gain direction on what needs to change before investing in more marketing activity and deeper authority building.

The Position Review gives you clarity. Authority Build creates the solution.

Who it is for

The Position Review is for expert-led businesses that have significant expertise but are not recognised strongly enough for it.

It is especially useful when a business is visible but not clearly known, investing in content or AI visibility without a clear authority direction, have too many services, audiences or messages creating confusion, repositioning for a more premium market, or trying to align the founder, brand, website and content around one clearer position.

It is also a sensible step for businesses considering larger advisory or transformation work, but wanting an external strategic view before committing to a bigger engagement.

The Review is for businesses that want the confidence of diagnosis before development.

Who it is not for

The Position Review is not designed for people looking for a basic SEO audit, a quick AI visibility checklist, social media management, a logo review, tactical marketing tips or someone to rewrite a homepage in isolation.

It is also not a full strategy build for £4,500.

The Review assesses, diagnoses and prioritises.

If deeper development is needed, that work continues through Authority Build or another advisory route.

Investment and format

The Position Review is available at an investment of £4,500.

It is typically delivered over four weeks, subject to access to the agreed evidence and stakeholders, and includes the discovery work, strategic assessment, Priority Roadmap and playback session.

If Authority Build is recommended and commissioned within 30 days, £2,000 of the Position Review fee is credited against the Authority Build investment.

This makes the Review a serious first step into deeper positioning work, while still giving you value as a standalone strategic diagnosis.

After the Review

There are three likely routes available to you after a Position Review.

1. If the Position foundation is unclear, incomplete or not strong enough to support wider recognition for your business, the recommended next step may be Authority Build.

2. If the Position is already strong enough and the priority is to develop proof, presence, systems and commercial activation, the next step may be Authority Transformation.

3. If the business needs continued strategic oversight, specialist coordination and phased development, the right route may be Authority Partnership.

The Review does not force the business into a predetermined path.

It identifies what is needed, what is not needed and what should happen in the right order.

Start with diagnosis

Before you invest in more visibility, content, AI search, PR or transformation, understand whether your expertise is clear, credible and connected enough to be recognised.

That is the role of the Position Review.

It gives you the diagnosis, priorities and direction needed before deeper authority building begins.

If you are considering a Position Review, the first step is an advisory conversation.

We will discuss your current situation, what you want to become recognised for and whether the Review is the right starting point.
